Gothic Cinema

This is the foyer ceiling in our local cinema. It goes back a few hundred years and is pretty amazing. Some of the smaller theatres have wood panelled walls with painted ceilings. The biggest has big wooden beams and some painting too. A part of me though, does feel it's kind of wrong to have made it into a cinema. Feels like there should be merchants of old buying and selling rather than surround-sound booming out and popcorn being dropped...

After a long day of admin (tax returns, paying bills etc), we treated ourselves to a bite to eat (the biggest and hottest pizzas ever - there was much drawing in of air and leaving fizzy water on the tongue to cool it down) and the pics, finally saw The King's Speech and it was every bit as good as they say it is. Colin Firth for an oscar! ;)
