peaking through snow

lots of snow at my mom's house... unlike mine...

found this little dried flower peaking through about a foot of snow - all alone in the middle of the yard...

things are busy as we take care of last minute preparations for my mom's surgery on monday.... she is noticeably nervous and in a lot of pain with her hip. the good news is that with the replacement, she will have a new bionic hip within just several days - doing the dance of joy for that.... it's not a pleasant thing to see ones mother in pain and discomfort - or being able to walk around like normal.

i feel bad for her but there's nothing i can do. i'm so grateful i can be her and pay her back for the times she took care of me when i was growing up... i guess as our parents age, that's what it comes to - us taking care of them... but the role reversal is, nonetheless, a strange one to get accoustomed to...

i backblipped yesterday since i was traveling... except that i don't know how to direct you there with a link - and feel somewhat foolish for that but.... please, take a look though excusing my ignorance... i always like to hear how i've done with my shots...
