Pockets of turbulence

I am currently experiencing a pocket of turbulence. The flight has been pretty smooth and very enjoyable of late. But it is only a matter of time before one must strap on their seat belt and hold on for the white knuckle ride.

Its been a steady accumulation of a few things. The dryer breaking, the buggy's handle malfunctioning, my 'eye problem' flaring up and just having to grin and bear it for it is my 'weak area', the boiler of 38 years that has never broken before breaking down spectacularly in my parents house whilst I was house sitting and as they cruised SE Asia, my boss phoning me to tell me that there had been an 'organisational development' and we were merging with another charity which may result in redundancies, returning home to find the two outside lights had broken and are pretty much unfixable to us mere mortals and require a sparky, and finally, me going out last night and tripping on the steps due to lack of lighting and spraining my ankle really quite badly (particularly bad timing as I had just started running again after a two year hiatus due to laziness/pregnancy and was loving rediscovering that small pleasure)

Woe is me.

Funny how these things all came at once at the beginning of the year! Hopefully thats my turbulence over for 2011 and I look forward to unbuckling my belt and relaxing with a rom com movie, some peanuts and a nice G & T from now on.
