Our Burns Supper
Our village hall was built in 1887 and for as long as anyone can remember, there has always been a portrait of Scotland's most prolific and famous poet Robert Burns hanging above the fireplace.
Last night we celebrated his life and works in the traditional way.
Many thanks to our guest speakers, Tim Turnbull our local Yorkshire poet who was Master of Ceremonies and delivered the Immortal Memory, Chris Smith who gave the toast to the Lassies and Lesley Riddoch who replied. Bill did a wonderful address to the Haggis. Thanks to Fin Moore for his wonderful piping and to everyone else who 'did a turn'.
Cleared up the Hall in readiness for the morning meditation group!
