EICA (2003)

Built inside a disused quarry, the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena is a valuable resource for adventure enthusiasts in Scotland. I remember climbing in the old quarry before it was transformed into this wonderful venue. I managed to haul my body up an E2 route called Godzilla. One of the downsides to the transformation is that some of the testpiece routes in the old quarry are now inaccessible - including Godzilla.

Nowadays I'm limited to holding the kids' rope with two feet firmly on the ground. Maybe when I can trust my life in their hands, I will get onto the walls again...
