Clippy

Office '97 and later had this animated paperclip, to give advice. It was nice in the beginning, if you saw it for the first time, but I think they should have used several other icons to give advice.
After all, what do 'ya do when being nervous because you'll have a deadline and don't know how to do something to finish it....
You'll bite your nails (at least I tend to).
So what better represents something to avoid biting your nails.... ;)
