To encourage children to the world of music, the Colchester Youth Orchestra today held their annual Teddy Bear's Concert. Each child was encouraged to bring along a teddy bear to watch and listen.
The Moot Hall was a surprise to find, so ornate, hidden away in the Town Hall. The orchestra filled the hall with the sounds of their instruments and as they played, the teddy bears became more sleepy and the children became more restless.
The conductor saved the day by announcing that any child wanting to conduct the orchestra should make their way to the front - quite a queue formed. Then he asked any child wanting to have a go at the percussion instruments should come forward. An even longer queue formed. Apart from one small child, who decided the only suitable response at being presented with a tambourine was to burst into tears , all children played very well. Before long, it was time to leave.
Each Teddy was presented with a small basket of sweets and cake to take home. I don't know about anyone else, but our bears didn't get a look in...

By the way, yesterday's question was - Who wants Birthday Cake? Only cake has that power ....
