Hot dogs

So, to Rose Cottage in deepest Northumberland for the weekend found me being greeted by multi-dog bowls in the hall on my arrival. For a moment I thought I was staying in kennels, but it turned out that there were two dogs each with their own water and food bowls. I wasn't convinved dogs would be so bothered at such individual attention.

The cottage on the first night proved to be the hottest holiday home in town, not because of the overwhelming beauty of the six residents, but due to the cranked-up heating, wood stove and general stuffiness peaking at around 85 Fahrenheit and a household of sweaty and headachey guests by morning.
