Life thru a lens

My Bike

I'll cycle my bike wherever I like.
Under the radar and over the dyke.
Twice round the car-park
And straight through the crowds.
Into the sunset
And up through the clouds.
We'll thread through the traffic,
Cut up the cars. We'll ride
Over the pavement
And under the stars.
We'll ride into battle
As if we were blessed.
We'll drive herds of cattle
Into the West.
We'll perform loops and wheelies
In the British Museum.
We'll play Wall of Death
Round the Colliseum.
We'll skim on the water.
We'll rise through the air,
Through cumulo-nimbus
And stratosphere.

We'll cycle in silence over silvery sands,
Over cities and forests in many strange lands.
We'll gaze at our children, our parents and friends.
And we'll wave to our loved-ones:
"Look Mum, no hands!"

Gerry Dempsey

...The guy rushed passed me to greet his friend and together they rode off into the sunset...
