Today's the day ...................... to look for signs of spring

Woke up to a lovely day here today and so decided to go for a walk to see if we could find some snowdrops. It didn't take long at all - they are coming into flower everywhere you look.

They are such delicate flowers, aptly named and immediately make you feel as if spring is just round the corner. They take their name from the greek words gála "milk" and ánthos "flower" and comprise a small genus of about 20 species of bulbous herbaceous plants in the Amaryllis family.

Most definitely one of my favourite flowers .............
