New tv

Watching tv last night and the tube went, so this morning, up bright and early to visit one of the local electrical stores. Nice new 32" LG tv, installed and ready for viewing, much to Mum's relief. It's rather ironic that the insurance on the other set, which was only 3 years old ran out on 20th January and she decided not to renew it, sods law.

Over to the Wirral today to have lunch with my friend Ann, we have been friends for over 30 years, seen each other through good times and bad, that's what good friends are for. Then a visit to see Roy's ex sister in law, we have been good friends since Roy and I met 25 years ago and we see no reason not to remain in contact, even though Roy has been divorced from his ex wife since 1986. Spent a very nice couple of hours catching up on all the family gossip, Mum likes chatting to Val as they are of a similar age and have both lost their husbands. We left with some very nice home made scones, made with buttermilk rather than ordinary milk, apparently they remain softer for longer, had them with buter AND jam with a cuppa when we got home, lovely.
