Derelict Building
After yesterday today couldn't really have got any worse and luckily it didn't! Has a fairly reasonable and uneventful day at work which was pleasant, sometime there is nothing like the dull and mundane to soothe the soul!
I dashed out at lunch time to help a friend choose something to wear for her date tonight so unfortunately I didn't get a chance to take a photo in Chichester Centre today however I suddenly remembered on my way home a very sad derelict building that I had seen a couple of weeks ago after missing my turning for work (I have only been driving the same route for 5 years, I have no idea how I missed it!!)
After I grabbed a couple of shots (I had approximately a 45 second window or I would end up late to collect the children), I dived back into the car and did the daily sprint back to the school and nursery!
I have now discovered, courtesy of a friend who knows Chichester pretty well and a bit of internet searching that this building was the Summersdale Hospital which was the admissions hospital for Graylingwell! And another thing that I did not know about Graylingwell is that Anna Sewell, the lady who wrote 'Black Beauty' owned and used to live at Graylingwell before it became an Asylum!
Small local history lesson aside I am now off the bath the children and pop them to bed before sitting down with a well earned glass of wine!
