Dear Heart

Lettuce, no mayo

Dear Heart,
It was so lovely to be back in lectures today, although I feel terribly out of my depth already! I flirted with the idea of going to the library, but thought better of it and ate dinner at the Woodville with Becca, Elsie and her boyfriend Joe. We had to be out of the basement by 6 as there was a private party coming in, so we wolfed down our burgers and narrowly avoided heartburn. But it was lovely.
I left my camera in my room though, and I've been so awfully tired that I have nothing to post here except this. I curled my hair like a thirteen-year-old girl going out to her first disco with glitter on her eyelids. I look terribly pale, and I hate that it's just me, like some dreadful attempt at Facebook celebrity. But, oh.
Tomorrow it will be a whole two weeks since I began this. It feels like an awfully long time. That's why I like it here - it separates weeks into days, and they mean something, each one of them. They are to be treasured. We all are.
Love, Lydia x
