Exhibition

Today Daughter A took me, as a surprise, to The Heart of the Great Alone - Scott, Shackleton and Antaractic Photography exhibition, it was amazing! Wonderful photography by Herbert Ponting of Scott's Terra Nova expedition of 1910-13 and also photographer Frank Hurley's dramatic icescapes taken during Ernest Shackleton's polar expedition on Endurance in 1914-16. The photographs today are from the Royal Photograph Collection, well worth the visit for any local blippers. Its at the Canterbury Museum.

After our visit to the exhibition we had coffee at the Arts Centre. We did sit outside on this warm gusty nor west day and watched the trams go by. I was surprised how much scaffolding was around as earthquake repairs are under way.

A wonderful day spent with Daughter A, special as she will be heading to Wellington very soon to continue her studies.

2 February is World Wetlands day :)
