East meets West

With chinese new year upon us i headed to stowell street in newcastle, home of a majestic chinese gateway, and associated lion type creatures. when i got there the lion things were covered in black plastic as they repaired the arch above!

when i turned to leave, short of ideas, i looked up and saw the lanterns along the front of the buildings and two beer signs! the contrast between the two cultures, couldn't be more apparent!
