Taking Off...

Back to the Kennet and Avon in Devizes today, from the Town Bridge to the Wharf and back, then down to Caen Hill Lock flight.

One of a pair of swans took flight as I was some way away, the tips of its powerful wings crashing noisily on the surface of the water that it skimmed. It only flew a few yards, landing out of sight behind a narrowboat and then turning back to its partner with an exultant stretch.

Laptop update: Now working normally - providing I stay offline. Otherwise, I'm back to square one. Have done three full virus scans using different programs and none of them have found anything amiss. This has severely limited my ability to blip comment, tweet, e-mail etc.
