this is the power station at Belchatów
it is the second largest, coal-fired power-station in the world
it is the sixth most polluting power-station in the world, chucking 1.09 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere every month
that dark cloud that it produces was visible to the horizon. there must be a stripe across europe created by this thing
the hole in the ground between me and it is a coal-mine. they take 38.5 million tonnes of coal out of it every year to feed the thing. it is a 12km long and 4km wide scar
it is a very strange feeling standing so close to something like this. it was like somekind of monster. you felt uneasy turning your back on it....
