York
Tonight's blip was going to be from inside York Minster but by the time my meeting ended and I had managed to run into the church evensong was about to begin. It was impossible to take any pictures and I decided to just sit down and enjoy the service. Well, just my very good luck it happened to be the Candlemass service. How wonderful that was. We were all given candles on arrival and they were lit during the service after which we processed from the north transept through the nave into the quire. It really was very moving. The choir was so beautiful. I find mass singing very emotional anyway but when you have a choir of girls (unusually, I'll try to find out what that's all about)and male professional singers, the sound just soared to the ceiling and made me catch my breath. Even as a non believer this was all very special.
So your blip this evening is from outside the Minster looking down one of York's lovely medieval streets. it shows a young man trying to sell his ghost walks. I have a feeling he went home without having sold any.
