Transfer Window Closed

Have just been to the pub with Father in Law Running Backwards and one of our topics of conversation, over a gorgeous pint of Doom Bar (you deserve it!) was the ridiculous transfer window.

We discussed the earnings of top footballers per week versus a soldier risking his life in Afghanistan, prompted by a letter to the Independent, the ageing Chelsea squad, the demise of Bristol City and their new stadium prospects and even Bristol Rovers.

It's not often that I go for a mid week pint but the arrival of Father in Law is one of those occasions. Very pleasant it was too. We went crazy and had two pints and we weren't back until 6.45.
