Japanese Sweetness

I was always a wee bit sceptical about Japanese desserts or sweets but this evening we decided to try the dessert menu in our local Japanese restaurant and I'm very glad we did!

Perhaps not surprisingly, green tea was the heavily used ingredient in the desserts and I remembered trying green tea ice cream in China last year and thinking tonight ok, we have to try this.

One cake was a kind of swiss roll, where the sponge part was with green tea and then some lemon cream in the middle: yum! The second one had a chocolate base and some green tea topping/icing, it didn't really taste of chocolate but was very tasty nonetheless!
