Stone hot water bottle!

Another indoor blip today because of the very inclement weather. This hot water bottle was given to us by John's parents when we got our Welsh Springer spaniel pup, Sam over 30 years ago. We covered it with a thick woollen sock after filling it with warm water and put it in his bed at night so that he could cuddle into it and keep warm. Sam ,however, had other ideas and used it as a plaything. He always amazed us when he used to drag the sock (hot water bottle filled still inside) all over the floor!
He was some dog and ,as I was telling Lainy yesterday , his moment of glory came when our neighbour was laying a concrete found for a garage. After finishing the job he turned to his friend who had been helping him and said, 'All we need now is a dug to run across it!' Yes, you guessed it, Sam obliged and his huge spaniel pawprints were everywhere! I always think of his antics and smile when I pass this water bottle which is now used as a doorstop at our front door.

ps We have used it as a bedwarmer when no electric blanket was available and it is very effective too!
