A pilgrimage
I had an early coffee with Orisit, and really felt a bit under the weather, fully contemplating going back to bed, but somehow I kept my foot down and just kept on going, this on the radio seeming appropriate. The first plan, a walk to Biniaraitx, turned into driving there, then Fornalutx and then with a drop in for a cup of tea with some mountain folk, I carried on to Lluc. The morning was glorious, and I was glad to be under it.
I had a walk up to the calvary, looked over the edge, shufty round the chapel and then the only thing to do was grab a cheese ham and toasty in the café outside. Watching the expressions on a lady's face as she made some kind of tall biscuit for the monastery was priceless. Her hands kneaded and rolled the dough, formed the shape, made little patterns with her finger tips and then positioned each one with a reassuring pat, the same way every time. She must have been doing that all her life. And all the time having a little conversation with herself. I wish I could have taken a shot, but it seemed wrong.
I was a bit disapponted the botanic gardens were closed. Next time.
And then deciding to head back to Soller and not continue to Pollensa, I realised I was supposed to put the car in to the garage. Aghhh! Never mind, there's still time this afternoon I hope.
Most of the outdoor shots were a bit over exposed. I did keep messing with the ISO, but I think I underestimated the strength of the morning light, and the contrast under the trees was huge up there in the clear air. Got them stored in my head though.
Yet again, I'm having trouble getting the other shots onto the blog, so I'll link them later.
Have a great weekend everyone.
EDIT
Here they are.
p.s. I am sure I could see snow on the peaks on the mainland across the sea!
