The Long and Winding Track...

The last walk of our short break took us part way along the High Peak Trail following yet another old railway route.

The building of these railways was essentially hand built by scores of workmen and would have taken many months. These routes crossed acres of farmland and the tunnels seen in this viaduct were built to allow animals to travel from one field to the next, and are still used for that purpose today.
