Beautiful bark

I found lots of great things to take pictures of in the forest today but I especially loved the texture of this bark.

There has been a lot of work going on to thin the trees and the heavy machines have churned up the paths into a muddy mess, so by the end of our walk the doodle's fur looked a lot like this tree.

She just had to have the dreaded bath and if I hadn't just blipped her yesterday I would have used a pic of her enduring what seemed to be a fate worse than death.

You've never seen an animal looking so sorry for herself.
