What is one meant to do in a pub where the music gets cranked up so loud that conversation is impossible? Yes. That's right, leave. Although even before it was cranked up to 11, I was still finding it way too loud. Could I sue the pub for damage to my throat when I had to shout for an hour to make myself heard above the din?

And talking about conversations I really need to work out a way of explaining to a colleague that a conversation consists of two people chatting alternately about an interesting topic. It is not one person shouting about something very boring and then just shouting louder when the second person tries to add something of interest.

Anyway. Must get to bed, have a very early start tomorrow.
