Glory & Dismay

I spent the afternoon at the Tollcross Community Centre in Edinburgh on a visit alongside Sir Jackie Stewart . We were at the premiere of a short film about the "Glory & Dismay" Adult Literacy Project that uses a passion for football to help hard to reach adults towards higher literacy and numeracy skills. Afterwards Jackie spoke movingly to members of the project about dyslexia and his struggle and was - as ever for I have worked with him on a number of occasions now - listened to with rapt attention. He does inspire his audiences particularly those who have been faced with the same learning challenges and his honesty and determination are winning qualities.
