German Colander

This leave, my mother in law went from her old house, where she lived 55 years, to her new appartment. She could not take all her belongings with her to her new appartment and a lot of these belongings were not really needed in her new house as well. For instance this old German steel helmet from the second world war. Shortly after the war, there were apparently plenty German steel helmets and not much colanders available. If you combine these facts, you simply make one of a helmet. Everybody would throw them away as soon as decent colanders became avaiable, but not my mother in law. So I am very happy with our new old colander now.
