Well, how about that?

Came across this in my village. Who knew? Not me. Apparently there's a bust of her in the library which, to my shame, I've never really noticed. I must confess that I've never watched Lark Rise to Candleford either but I gather it's been quite popular. It turns out Flora Thompson lived here when her husband was the postmaster. There's even a six mile Flora Thompson literary walk around the village, taking in her various old haunts. I mentioned the plaque in the picture to my Mum and she has just given me what was my grandma's copy of The Illustrated Lark Rise to Candleford.
