Sepia on a Sunday

I'm having one of those days today. You know the ones, the days when everything seems to take much longer than it should. Not because anything has gone wrong but because you have to stop and think about everythong before you do it.

Today's Blip was a classic case in point. I'd chosen the image, uploaded it and then sat here gazing blankly at the computer screen or the TV screen, with not an idea of what to write. Maybe I'm having so much trouble because I'm sick. Not life threateningly, it's just a cold but it's the first proper, catarrh, sore throat, headache, fever type cold I've had for a long time and it's slowed me down to point where I feel like I've slept most of the day.

A few weeks ago I Blipped Lampros climbing up the hill on the way to his shop after his daily provisions run. Today's picture is his shop. Just a tiny little general store where Lampros works alone. It's the nearest 'supermarket' to my house and although I can't buy anywhere near everything I need there, I do try and use it as much as possible, especially for heavy things like catfood. Lampros doesn't speak English and his shop is hardly what you would call self-service, so frequenting his shop has been a very good way to improve my Greek. When I first started going there I could just about ask for the items I wanted but slowly we started to have limited conversations and over the years we've come to understand each other quite well.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and congratulations on my 100th yesterday. Yes, the pizza was delicious and yes, Tallulah did get some and I made sure that her piece had plenty of cheese and a bit of anchovy. She was a very happy puss.

Off to take some more painkillers and sleep some more I think.
