Malibu - Day 3

Breakfast consisted of steel cut oatmeal prepared in a cast iron pot (which I am a big fan of now and will now be on the lookout for good cast iron cookward) and fruit - and of course lots of coffee.

Afterwards we went into Montecito to the San Ysidro Ranch and got a tour. It was such a beautiful area and would love to go back sometime.....maybe when we win the lottery ;)

Next on our list was the Babcock Winery and then the Melville Winery.

By this point we were starving and tried to find a couple of places that someone had recommended. Both turned out to be closed, and then we ended up at the Olive House in Solvang - we tried the blood orange olive oil, fig & pomegranate infused balsamic vinegar, and of course did the wine tasting there as well.

We finally found somewhere to eat and we had dinner in Santa Barbara - this was the 3rd recommendation and were pleasantly surprised that it was open. We ate at Carlito's, which was right across the street from the Arlington Theater. Our guide from the San Ysidro Ranch told us that the SBIFF was happening and that Geoffrey Rush was accepting a lifetime achievement award.

Tickets were too expensive to get in, but we did manage to catch a glimpse.
