This Edinburgh Life

Sunday papers

A relaxing and enjoyable day, with a family trip to see the latest Disney animation, Tangled. It was the first film we had all seen at the cinema since Up.

Later it was swimming training for the girls and a Sunday roast in the evening. As usual we had plenty of newspapers kicking around and I had recommended to Kitty a really interesting piece in the Sunday Times magazine about the efforts of Strathclyde police to tackle knife crime in Glasgow. Not a bundle of laughs, I know, but perhaps because it was about Scotland, or the case studies involved children not much older than her, but she was gripped from the opening paragraph and not even aware I was taking this.
