Open to Close?

Went to the public opening this afternoon of a refurbished library and pleased to see it was full of local people. This isn't my local library (which is staying open) but I am a volunteer here for the Home Library Service - which won't be cut. It is the public library that is under threat of closure.

Although this library serves a fairly large community it is about half way between 2 other larger libraries that have been designated by North Yorkshire to remain open. So this local library (now in a £545K redesigned building) is waiting to hear whether it will continue.

Talk of volunteers and cuts continues, everyone waiting for an announcement. There has been plenty of protest so, who knows...
