Marrakech Market

This is the Place des Epices in the center of Marrakech in Morocco. It deserves to be viewed large.

It is at the edge of the Souk, the market area in the city, with at least 15 to 20 covered passages with merchants offering everything imaginable. The sign at the upper right announces "The Main Market for Carpets" ("LE SOUK PRINCIPAL DES TAPIS"), within the overall market.

We arrived in Marrakech from Paris early yesterday evening, and it has been a marvelous experience. I'll tell more in the next few days (we leave Friday).
