Te Taupo Nui a Tia
I left New Zealand at the beginning of December after a great holiday. One of my purchases was of a framed selection of handblown pieces of glass from a sculpture in Taupo - 'The Great Cloak of Tia'. It finally (!) arrived in the post today!
4000 glass 'feathers' were made by Lynden Over to make up the final sculpture with the blues representing the lakes and sky, and earthy tones representing the volcano. The ones not selected for the final sculpture have been framed and are being sold via Lynden's gallery Lave Glass. The full story of the cloak is here.
Happy days!
p.s. I really thought I would excel at the challenge this week - body parts - however work was too busy to stop and blip. Maybe tomorrow.....
