Post Office Tower and the London Plane

Two enduring sights of the city.

Mr BRE works at the Tower but sometimes he wishes he didn't! I think Wikipedia has it wrong ( - what! Wikipedia wrong! Surely not!!) in saying that the IRA blew it up in 1971- I'm pretty sure it was The Angry Brigade, though I expect the IRA did claim responsibility.

Anyway, thereafter members of the public couldn't go up it anymore to marvel at the view. We just had to make do with Noel Edmonds and his christmas jumpers every December 25th!
