The first day

Today was my first day at Fire Academy!

In addition to many other things that are required to successfully dispense the duties that will soon comprise my day job, the helmet in one of the most distinctive. I experienced a profound internal reaction when given it today. It was the reality of a long awaited goal finally sinking in, and the goal becoming concrete.
