Water Lilies
We went to Cardiff museum today. Well worth a visit if you haven't been.
We had done the Wales Through The Millennia exhibition the last time we were here, so we had a walk around the art galleries.
Always a bit strange when you see an original van Gogh, Gauguin or Magritte to think, they really did touch and paint that canvas. It's not just a picture in a book.
There is a collection of Monet works, including these three paintings of water lilies. It got me thinking that these works of art were the original blips of their time.
Monet painted a lot of water lilies in his time, and actually destroyed a lot of the canvases. Did this make them the emergency blips of their time.
A bit of impressionist food for thought for you ...
