The Smoke Flap
I finally bolted what I call the smoke flap into place tonight. It's function is to either in it's open state let the smoke and heat go straight out of the chimney or, closed the smoke and heat has to go around the oven, thereby heating it. Simple.
It has taken quite a lot of thought and measuring to get it in exactly the right position.
While doing it I have noticed there are some holes that I have forgotten to put bolts and nuts in which are now impossible to access. Poo! I will have to dismantle some of the stove again to remedy my mistake. Double Poo! Of course I could always use pop rivets instead... No, that would be cheating.
I did some grocery shopping online for the first time today. It was a big milestone for me. My one mistake was forgetting to consult Jo first and involve her in the process. I won't make that mistake again...
