Bookshops..

Just another example of Bruntsfield's wonderful community. In the 1998 film, "You've got mail", the lovely Meg Ryan runs a small family bookshop. Inadvertently, she falls in love with Tom Hanks (well someone has to) who owns a chain of mega-bookstores. He is out to close down her business, because he has opened a new store nearby.

Well, that was then. Now the big stores are closing too - because of on-line marketing and the undoubted success and convenience of such as Amazon.

But the old fashioned me still likes to go into the small bookshop - for the light, the smell, the browse, the friendliness, the ambiance in general.
