Tea and toast

I don't think breakfast gets any better than this. Well, maybe apart from the breakfast you have when you are away from home and someone else is doing it! Then I quite like to go the whole hog and have a cooked breakfast, but at home the simple tea and toast is just perfect.

Made all the more so too by the addition of my mum's marvellous marmalade. I think this is last years vintage.

Now when I was younger I liked marmalade (I blame Paddington) but I did not like the bits. Bleugh, but my mum only made dark marmalade with the bits so over time I grew to like it!

However, now I'm a mother and my son Joe loves marmalade, but he too doesn't like the bits. Guess what... yes, thats right, my mother makes him his own marmalade. Lighter and without any bits. I ask you - talk about favouritism!
