Digger

When we see a digger, my boy and I always shout the same thing.

"Get that digger working!"

(Not loud enough for them to hear)

I used to love going to farm shows as a boy, always hoping that some of the shiny tractors on the machinery stands were unlocked and we could scramble inside and imagine.

Tractors and diggers look wrong in a showroom. Sparkling and polished.

It's not what they're made for. They're made to plough and plant and clear and build. To get used, and scratched, and mucky.
