Hanoi

Wandered around the Old and French Quarters of the capital city today, soaking up the cafe culture and doing some essential research on the retail outlets of Hanoi. We unfortunately missed Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum because it was closed today and we're going to be out of town until Sunday afternoon. We could have done with another full day here really but in hindsight I'm glad I had an extra day on the beach further south when the sun was shining!

Anyway - haven't seen half of it but think it's great. Certainly more Westernised than Saigon, but we decided (between the four of us - Welsh, English, Dutch and Finnish) that it's fairly European if that makes sense. Yes it has its own backpackersville and tat stalls, but what city doesn't?
