Ready for take off Captain.

This photo of a dragonfly...or mini alien...was taken down by the river in the Megalong,where I take my boys (dogs) for a walk.
The river is quickly becoming a drying out creek,but still flowing along.
Last year at this time,I was fascinated by an area of sand which was attracting bees,finches,and these dragonflies..also neon blue as well as red,amazing.
There must be a mineral that they're going for in the sand.I'd love to know .

The complexity of the structure of these guys is incredible...and totally spacey..His helmet,air packs,aerodynamic shape...love it.
