The Centerstage

Another Nahutapa Ceremony in the morning at town and one more wedding in the afternoon till late evening at Nambol, Bishnupur District.

The blip is the nucleus of the stage set for the wedding. The main attraction second to the wedding couple before they make their appearance onstage, are these Palas (traditional musicians comprising of high pitched vocalists holding intricate cymbals and drummers). The drummers performed one astounding performance called PUNG CHOLOM in which they showcase different synchronizing beats building up the tempo until they reach the climax at which the turbans (Kokyet) they are wearing must always be flung out of their heads upon the ground far away by their rhythmic rocking movements!
