Adieu Marrakech

This was the view just after our flight from Marrakech took off for Paris, very early this morning. See it large.

The snow-covered peaks are the Atlas Mountains, south of the city. The highest tower must be the Koutoubia Mosque--the largest in Marrakech, also featured in yesterday's sunset blip.

It was our first visit to Marrakech (and my first to any part of Africa). We had a fabulous time during our five days, and have vowed to return. We stayed in the Riad Miski (akin to a bed-and-breakfast), which we would highly recommend (more here). It's in the medina (the walled center of the city), which we felt was essential to our experience.
