sky lantern

a practice before my stepdaughter's surprise 40th birthday party at our house tomorrow night. just as well we practised!!! the plan is that we write & draw messages then let them fly.

am amazed that one can just let a burning object - albeit just wire, a wax block & flame-retardant paper - into the sky! i bet they are banned soon! meanwhile we shall enjoy them - i saw a couple early on New Year's morning serenely floating through the dark frosty night & they looked magical.
