Epsilon Bass
Another bassist. I know. But I know this one, too! I thought it was hilarious that each time I went to take a picture of him, he noticed and struggled not to just smile. He repeatedly forced himself to look past me. Went to the 'Rock for the Homeless' benefit at Donkey. Fantastic lineup and an awesome show.
Band List (in order):
Josh Landis - picture of Josh playing with a broken string. It broke about halfway through the song, but he kept playing anyways. He was such a trooper.
The Rasgaitis Brothers...This is a Shot from the Benefit
The Epsilon Project
Section 8 (an a cappella male group)
Title IX (an a cappella female group)
The show itself was a benefit concert for the 6th annual 'Walk for the Homeless' sponsored by Good Works. This group was founded by an OU alum who began it when he was a senior at OU. He and his housemates began taking in homeless people around Athens and helping them get back on their feet.
At this point in their journey, Keith Wasserman and his wife Darlene, have founded the Timothy House, the only homeless shelter in nine counties around Athens. They have begun having difficulties putting up all of the homeless people who come to them and now are forced to turn people in need away. They have recently asked for permission to expand the House, and have been told that they are not allowed. Each year, the walk for the homeless attempts to raise money and awareness about the depth of the problem in Athens and in surrounding Appalachia.
Keith is one of my personal heroes in that he has begun making a difference even though he started as just another human wanting to help others. The only difference between him and most people? He did something about it. He inspires me.

The man sitting on the red and white checkered blanket was a bit of a puzzle. He was sitting next to a closed picnic basket, and had a pile of what looked to be flower petals next to him. His mouth was moving. The girl sat down casually on the grass close to the man, but far enough away that he wouldn't notice her. She discreetly angled her camera to capture his face, and snapped the picture.
