MV Torea, Burnham wharf, Wellington, early morning

Over the last few weeks I've taken photos of some rather grim places in old industrial and new urban landscapes. This charming restaurant, for instance, this place to sleep for homeless people, or the old maximum security animal quarantine station on Somes Island.

Today's picture, of a ship moored at Burnham wharf, taken before dawn, presents another perspective - softer and perhaps romanticized - of the industrial landscape. I sought to do something similar with this image of a light industrial area near the wharf. The grime of the buildings and the ground contrasts with the dawn sky.
