I got lucky snapping this little guy this morning.I walked around the corner and there he was,frozen like stone.I got one shot,looked sideways,and he was gone.
This is a juvenile 'Eastern Water Dragon',(Physignathus lesuerii)...Adult males grow to 1 metre,so he's just a little fella.
They are extremely shy in the wild and very fast.
They're able to swim totally submerged and can rest on the bottom of shallow creeks for 90 minutes to avoid detection....and hibernate in winter.
