Camera recommendations please!!

A cheeky lil monkey, on a saturday afternoon,
realising crawling is still fun, a blip picture it had to be,
the camera had other ideas though,
I log on, upload, er, 15th december 2011?!!
Hmmmmmm, I turn on the camera, nothing,
Batterys fully charged, Oh great,
I switch off, switch on,
eventually it says hello,
I glare, reset the date,
Ask the Hubby to smile a midnight oh for gods sake women smile,
praying the camera will hold,
I upload to photo-shop Quick fiddle and the date is solved.
Soon I have next Christmas's today's blip uploaded.
I glare back at the camera, pick her up,
she refuses to work yet again!!
Oh cr*p please don't say my blipping days are nearly over :(


Time for some much needed advice, so here I am...........



Question time, My father in law very kindly gave me
this camera a year ago, (when my blips suddenly improved!) he has had it a few years, before that I had a pretty naff nikon compact, (think blurred yellow pixelated pics and you may just be close to the mark!)
Now this one is slowly telling me it has had enough, quite often it won't turn on, takes longer and longer to respond every time, I have never been without a camera, I cannot be with out one!!!!!
So I am wondering if any one on here can recommend a decent camera for under £200? Be is another bridge or a pretty decent compact?
